In order to ensure the publicity, authenticity, security and effectiveness of legal acts, extrajudicial services decentralize the performance of the public power, offering a variety of services to the citizen. With the range of services and enormous responsibility that, until recently, was entirely done in an archaic way, it became essential that these services be computerized to ensure the speedy and safe execution of the services. Seeking to identify emerging technologies aimed at notary services, an exploratory and descriptive study was carried out in the period 1991-2020, with a bibliographical survey in Google Scholar, Scielo and Lens databases, in addition to deposits of patent documents at the national (INPI) and international scope (Lens). Data were organized and presented in tables and graphs, with further analysis of the patent documents in the Lens database, considering the number, types of documents, historical evolution, country of filing, applicants, and the CPC code. In this prospective study, it was evident that the use and application of technologies to modernize the notary sector are extraordinarily recent.
