Potential of the Municipality of Maringá for the Installation of a Technological Park With an Emphasis in Biotechnology

Resumo: Technology parks have been recognized as instruments of integration of multiple actors, institutions and activities related to the promotion of innovation culture and business competitiveness. However, for the installation of such enterprises it is necessary that the region present minimum conditions of viability. In this way, this work aimed to analyze the local vocations of the Municipality of Maringá - PR to host a technological park with emphasis on biotechnology. Considering the proposed theme, we opted for a qualitative and descriptive bibliographical research. The results show that, although there is synergy between different actors and potential of key factors in favor of the development of Maringa's territory, we still find the number of biotechnological companies in the region is precarious and unimpressive to converge in the installation of an enterprise size.

Entretanto, para a instalação desses empreendimentos é necessário que a região apresente condições mínimas de viabilidade. Dessa forma, este trabalho teve por objetivo analisar as vocações locais do Município de Maringá/PR para sediar um parque tecnológico com ênfase em biotecnologia. Considerando a temática proposta, optou-se por uma pesquisa bibliográfica, qualitativa e descritiva.
