Eco-Innovations in the Civil Construction Industry: a look at the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil

Resumo: | The Civil Construction Industry (CCI) has been searching for sustainable alternatives for its processes and products, focusing on developing cleaner mechanisms that minimize environmental impact. This work aims to identify gaps in public policies related to the CCI sector that hinder the development of eco-innovations. The methodology was based on a patent search to identify the types of ICC eco-innovations, as well as a survey of related public policies that, when analyzed together, allowed an understanding of the green development of the sector. The results point to the low number of green patents registered along with the incipience of policies that encourage green production and development in this sector. From the findings, it is pointed out perspectives for the transformation process for the CCI directed related to the buildings sector, highlighting the importance of developing systemic actions involving the agents of the constructive chain, public authorities, and society. |

Objetiva-se neste trabalho identificar lacunas nas políticas públicas relacionadas ao setor da ICC que dificultam o desenvolvimento de ecoinovações. A metodologia apoiou-se na busca patentária para identificar os tipos de ecoinovações da ICC, bem como no levantamento de políticas públicas relacionadas que, analisadas conjuntamente, permitiram realizar uma leitura do desenvolvimento verde do setor. Os resultados apontam o baixo número de registro de patentes verdes, bem como a incipiência de políticas que incentivem a produção e o desenvolvimento verde no setor.
