O ACESSO AO ENSINO SUPERIOR: gênero e raça

A pretensão do trabalho é aportar alguma contribuição à reflexão sobre o acesso à formação superior, numa perspectiva de gênero e raça, isto é, que se preocupe em compreender a vinculação da mulher com o mundo do trabalho na sua relação com o universo masculino, tomando em consideração o seu pertencimento racial. A pesquisa analisa dados sobre o acesso dos estudantes à Universidade Federal da Bahia, no período 1993 a 1997, procurando perceber de que modo se associam gênero e cor, para determinar o sua inserção nas careiras do ensino superior. A análise evidencia que a expectativa da sociedade, em geral, e do grupo familiar, em particular, agindo sobre a mulher desde muito cedo, direcionam suas escolhas para o que é esperado como o papel feminino. ACCESS TO ACADEMIC TEACHING: gender and race The objective of the work is to contribute to thoughts on academic education in a gender and race perspective, namely the ones concerned in understanding the woman’s link in the world of the work, as far as the relationship with the masculine universe is concerned, bearing in mind the idea of belonging to a race. The research analyzes data on the access of students to the Federal University of Bahia in the 1993-1997 period, in order to realize the way gender and color are associated to determine the insertion in the academic teaching career. The analysis shows that the society expectancy and family group pressures on the girl’s childhood guide her choices towards what is considered a feminine role.
