Resumo: O II Pólo Petroquímico brasileiro apresenta um quadro de saúde do trabalhador aparentemente assincrônico com o seu avançado e dinâmico patamar tecnológico. O texto focaliza este fato, reconhecendo a inserção do pólo no processo internacional de transferência de tecnologia e a redefinição dos riscos industriais pelas políticas locais de gestão da produção e do trabalho. The Petrochemical Complex of Camaçari II presents a picture of workers' health conditions apparently incompatible with its advanced and dynamic technological standards. The article focuses on this fact, pointing out the industry's insertion in the internacional process of technology transfer, and the redefinition of industrial risks produced by the local policies of production and work management.
