Listening to the transgender child: a look at Brazilian scientific production and ethical issues

Resumo: In this article we aim to carry out a mapping of Brazilian intellectual productions that listen to transgender children in their investigations in order to understand how this theme is being analyzed. The research also discusses the demands and dilemmas that involve child transgender identity and the ethical and methodological issues that permeate research with children in Brazil. The survey was carried out on internet search platforms that index and disseminate scientific studies, being analyzed through a post-structuralist perspective. We found that the works retrieved in the searches predominantly make theoretical reflections, based on bibliographic surveys and also on memories about the childhood of trans adults. In this sense, we consider that there is an urgent need for more studies with transgender children in the country, stressing how transgender identity in childhood is understood and what knowledge can potentially be produced by these subjects.

La investigación también discute las demandas y dilemas que involucran la transgeneridad infantil y las cuestiones éticas y metodológicas que permean la investigación con niños en Brasil. La encuesta se realizó en plataformas de búsqueda en internet que indexan y difunden estudios científicos, siendo analizada desde una perspectiva postestructuralista. Encontramos que los trabajos recuperados en las búsquedas hacen predominantemente reflexiones teóricas, basadas en levantamientos bibliográficos y también en memorias sobre la infancia de adultos trans. En ese sentido, consideramos que urgen más estudios con niños transgénero en el país, destacando cómo se entiende la transgeneridad en la infancia y qué saberes pueden potencialmente producir estos sujetos.Neste artigo objetivamos realizar um mapeamento das produções intelectuais brasileiras que ouviram crianças transgênero em suas investigações a fim de compreender como essa temática está sendo analisada. A pesquisa também discute sobre as demandas e os dilemas que envolvem a transgeneridade infantil e as questões éticas e metodológicas que permeiam as pesquisas com crianças no Brasil. O levantamento foi realizado em plataformas de busca da internet que indexam e disseminam estudos científicos, sendo analisados por meio de uma perspectiva pós-estruturalista. Constatamos que os trabalhos recuperados nas buscas predominantemente fazem reflexões teóricas, baseados em levantamentos bibliográficos e também em memórias acerca da infância de adultos(as) trans.
