Fora do sistema oficial de abastecimento, a distribuição e utilização da água seguem práticas acordadas entre os moradores da ocupação. Neste sentido, a observação desta comunidade pelas lentes da segurança hídrica, conceito que combina o debate sobre disponibilidade de água com uma análise crítica das relações sociais, na consolidação do acesso em determinados contextos, contribui para uma reflexão mais profunda a respeito das desigualdades socioambientais presentes no recorte específico da região central da cidade de São Paulo. Este trabalho propõe a análise das relações entre a própria água, infraestruturas existentes e estratégias de organização internas. Ainda, a pesquisa desenvolve um argumento teórico baseado no conceito de segurança hídrica para, a partir da análise dos resultados de entrevistas semiestruturadas, compreender o ciclo hidrossocial da Ocupação Mauá. Por fim, ao dialogar com a agenda da Ecologia Política Urbana, o trabalho se posiciona como um questionamento ampliado das questões de acesso à água para moradores de Ocupações por Moradia Digna no centro de São Paulo. Os resultados da análise dos dados fornecidos pelos ocupantes permitiram a verificação das condições de segurança hídrica na Ocupação. Portanto, neste documento se encontra a constituição final da dissertação como uma síntese de todo o processo de pesquisa com a comunidade, embasado pelas discussões construídas ao longo do curso de mestrado e cujos resultados visam contribuir para futuras pesquisas.In everyday life of the center of São Paulo, in particular, of the empty and abandoned buildings that squatted by the struggling movements for housing, the access to water generally occurs through an alternative connection to the urban network. Outside the official supply system, the distribution and use of water follow agreed practices among residents of the squat. So, the action of observe this community through the lenses of a reconceptualized theory of water security, one that combines the debate on water availability with a critical analysis of social relations in the consolidation of access in certain contexts, contributes to a deeper reflection on the socioenvironmental inequalities that remain in the central region of the metropolis of São Paulo. This work proposes the analysis of the connections between water itself, existing infrastructures and internal organizational strategies - in the methodological frame of the hydrosocial cycle. So, the research develops a theoretical argument based on the concept of water security and hydrosocial cycle, with the analysis of the results of semi-structured interviews, of the Mauá Occupation. Finally, in the dialogue with the urban political ecology researchers, the following research poses itself as a generator of more questions about the water access issues for strugglers of dignified housing in the center of São Paulo - an exercise that needs to be expanded. The analysis of the data provided by the occupants allowed the verification of the water security conditions in the occupation.
