São Bernardo do Campo, 2019Por que a perspectiva linear, sistematizada no Renascimento Italiano, persiste como forma de representação hegemônica na cultura ocidental, ainda que as condições epistêmicas para seu desenvolvimento não estejam mais presentes? Para responder à pergunta buscaremos caracterizar, em primeiro lugar, a perspectiva linear como um sistema coeso, especialmente a partir das conclusões de Panofsky (2014) e Damisch (2012). Em seguida, argumentaremos, com Koyré e Panofsky, que esse sistema inclui como parte necessária a conexão da legitimidade artística com o conhecimento científico. Por fim, retomando o conceito de visão perspectiva, de Panofsky, apontaremos para a ruptura que a arte moderna sugere, ao colocar em suspensão tanto a necessidade da conexão entre legitimidade artística e legitimidade científica, como a ideia de que a perspectiva linear é a única capaz de prover uma visão (no sentido de Panofsky). Argumentamos, finalmente, que a consistência ótica e a autorreferência atuam como condição de possibilidade da perspectiva linear, a partir da reelaboração das teorias apresentadas face à hipótese de que mudanças metodologicamente relevantes ocorreram desde o início do século XX.Why does linear perspective, systematized in Italian Renaissance, endure as a hegemonic mode of representation in western culture, even if the epistemic conditions for its development are no longer present? To address this question, we will first characterize linear perspective as a cohesive system, departing specially from the conclusions of Panofsky (2014) and Damisch (2012). Next, following Koyré and Panofsky, we will argue that this system includes as a necessary part the link of artistic legitimacy and scientific knowledge. Finally, retaking Panofsky¿s concept of perspective vision, we will point to the rupture that modern art suggests, by questioning both the necessity of the connection between artistic legitimacy and science and the idea that linear perspective is the only one capable of offering a vision (in Panofsky¿s sense).
