São Bernardo do Campo, 2023O objetivo deste trabalho é examinar a presença de uma concepção de justiça em Agostinho. A justiça, fundamental para uma correta e boa convivência em sociedade, será o objeto de nossa análise. Veremos como a justiça é concebida no pensamento de Agostinho, analisando os seguintes aspectos: 1º) sua origem; 2º) como o ser humano a concebe; 3º) como a injustiça se faz presente na humanidade. Analisaremos como o pensamento de Agostinho sobre a justiça se contrapõe ao de Cícero e como ambos pensaram não só a justiça, mas a dependência desta com os conceitos de povo e república. Verificaremos, por fim, se é possível afirmar a justiça como conceito universal em Agostinho. Pesquisaremos em especial a obra A cidade de Deus, utilizando ocasionalmente outros trabalhos de Agostinho em nosso estudo.The objective of this work is to examine the presence of a conception of justice in Augustine. Justice, fundamental for a correct and good coexistence in society, will be the object of our analysis. We will see how justice is conceived in Augustine's thought, analyzing the following aspects: 1st) its origin; 2nd) how the human being conceives it; 3rd) how injustice is present in humanity. We will analyze how Augustine's thinking about justice is opposed to Cicero's and how both thought not only about justice, but its dependence on the concepts of people and republic. Finally, we will verify if it is possible to affirm justice as a universal concept in Augustine.
