Law and psychoanalysis: the juridical practice as an impossible

Along the years psychoanalytical theory was ordered a number of times to think about questions beyond individual scope. In this paper the theory is used in order to think Law as it presents itself nowadays, considering a perspective based on the psychoanalytical theory. For this objective we used some of Freud’s main works, as “totem and taboo” and “malaise in civilization”, among others, as the studies of another authors of the psychoanalytical theory and the Law. Through these studies we could observe how Law practic, as a restrictive practice, have an important role on both construction and sustaining of society as we know. In the end of these studies, we verify it’s approach to the practice of government, considered by Freud one of the three professions that he named “impossible”.
