In 1886, psychiatrist Richard von Krafft-Ebing launched the book Psychopathia Sexualis and became responsible for articulating a new perspective on the study of sexuality. His theories spanned centuries and to this today still have direct consequences for the contemporary idea of ​​human sexuality. This article on history of psychology, intends to approach the concept of masochism.
