Resumo: | The objective of this study is to identify the risk factors of infection related with the use of venous catheter in hospitalized HIV/ Aids patients. A quantitative approach of descriptive nature was used. The study was carried out with 24 HIV positive patients who were using intravenous devices, interned in a University Hospital in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The following categories emerged from the analysis of the data collected: type of catheter, type of medication and gravity of disease. The outcome shows that 92.10% used peripheral venous catheter and 75.00% had deep immunodeficiency. Concerning the medicinal groups with leukopenic and/or myelossuppressant action used by these patients, it was observed that the most frequent is the antiretroviral group (n=6). It was possible to conclude, therefore, that the identification, assessment and control of the risk factors provide information so that the Nurse should deliver personalized quality care to patients with immunodeficiency. |
