Women with HIV/aids: subsidies for the nursing practice

Resumo: Exploratory study, that characterizes 35 women with HIV/AIDS, assisted at clinics and it proposes nursing interventions. It was accomplished in October, 2004, in a reference service for attendance of HIV/AIDS in Fortaleza-CE. The results obtained through semi-structured form revealed that 52% of the women were in the age group between 30 and 39 years of age, 43% were single, 68% went to school during one to eight years’ time. Most of them informed to be out of the job marked. They professed to be catholic. They live in great urban centers, with scarce financial resources. The nursing interventions should be returned in approaching the disease in your complexity, using clear and objective language. Offer attendance in group, for discussions, as sexuality, use of medicines and available social resources. It’s suggested to implement the attendance with the residence visit, in order to have access to a home like atmosphere to intervene in accordance with the reality.
