Resumo: | The aim of this research was to identify and discuss the profile of undernourished children who had attended the Institute for Prevention of Malnutrition and Exceptionality – IPREDE and to evaluate the mother understands of undernourished children, in their search of health services in the City of Fortaleza – CE. A descriptive study developed with mothers of 22 undernourished children who had been attended at the Institute in the period of February to May 2005. The data were collected through interview in which the familiar context was showed and demonstrated in each meeting. It is relevant the insertion of the nursing professional in the articulation of care process, the psychological and social-economic dimensions of the mothers in the promotion of a worthy assistance to mother and baby and the family of the unnourished child. |
