Resumo: In condemning the society of his time, Rousseau criticized politics radically. In this critique, mainly as it appears in his book The Social Contract, he rejects and condemns the political representation as manifested fundamentally in the legislative power. Thus, the purpose of this article is to analyze the position of this thinker and to present the reasons for his anger against this political system.

Ao condenar a sociedade do seu tempo, Rousseau criticou a política de forma radical. Nessa crítica, principalmente como aparece em sua obra Do contrato social, ele rejeita e condena a representação política como se manifestava fundamentalmente no poder legislativo. Assim, o objetivo deste artigo consiste em analisar o posicionamento desse pensador e apresentar os motivos da sua ira contra esse sistema político.
