Resumo: O artigo em tela problematizará algumas das principais interpretações ao redor da Geografia de Paul Vidal de la Blache. Questionando-as à luz de uma análise histórica e epistemológica, a intenção maior é recuperar a riqueza do legado vidaliano no início do século XXI. Nesse sentido, quatro tópicos merecem destaque: o falso debate possibilismo-determinismo, o papel da geopolítica, a escala regional e o positivismo.
