HEGEMONY AS A MEANS OF ACCESS TO THOUGHT OF GRAMSCI: A FOCUS ON PASSIVE REVOLUTION

Resumo: This article makes part of a collective effort for the study of the thought of Antonio Gramsci, in the search for clues to analyze power enigmas in contemporary life. Having as a central reference the thinker's concept of hegemony, I embark on a (re)reading of his work. I recover, thus, studies I had concluded in the 1980s, by reaffirming an interpretation of hegemony as both direction and dominion, involving consensus and force, in the context of within and between class relations. I focus, also, on the notion of passive revolution as a strategy of the dominators to coopt movements and democratic-popular struggles that dare to challenge its power.

Tendo como referência central o conceito de hegemonia, deste pensador, faço uma (re)leitura da sua obra. Retomo, assim, estudos que realizei nos anos 1980, reafirmando, aqui, uma interpretação de hegemonia como direção e domínio, envolvendo consenso e força, no contexto de relações inter classes e entre classes.
