Corporate social action and the urban territorial political dispute in the rise and crisis of Lulism

Resumo: This article presents and discusses a case study conducted in the favela of Heliópolis, São Paulo, SP, about corporate social action and the disputes between different forces in the urban popular sphere in 2000s. It is based on the hypothesis that, during the period known as Lulism, there was an intensification of disputes between businesspeople and popular movements at the local level, with the opposition between Market logics and social rights in the processes of social integration. The permanent presence of business logic in the organization of daily life in the popular environment has formed social bases in favor of the realignment of classes around the orthodox neoliberalism defended by the extreme right wing in the country in the post-coup context.

Parte-se da hipótese de que, durante a vigência do período conhecido como lulismo, houve uma intensificação das disputas entre empresários e movimentos populares em âmbito local, com a contraposição das lógicas do mercado e do direito nos processos de integração social.
