Resumo: This essay is situated in the field of performance studies; specifically, studies of performances in art and life as crossed through by disgust and negativity. The text examines a public intervention by the Coletivo Coiote performance group in an attempt to create an especially visceral approximation between disgust as an emotion and political, aesthetic, and symbolic processes of inferiorization, abjection, and repugnance as these pertain to certain mechanisms that restructure social differences.
