Resumo: This paper analyzes the ethos on vocals investment four recordings of the song “A palo seco” (Belchior; 1974; 1976; Fagner, 1974; Ednardo, 1975) in order to investigate whether the findings of Costa (2001, 2011) regarding rough Pessoal do Ceará’s ethos also confirm that dimension. We use the contribution of discourse analysis, outlined by Maingueneau, and the application that Costa is this theory to literomusical discouse. We observed an acute/metal hipertimbre in the voices of Ednardo and Fagner and an hypernasality in Belchior voice that make evident a lack of balance in resonance factors. However, the physical effort that these vocal qualities appear can be seen as a transgression, which shows, for this dimension of vocal investment, a polemical tone compared to others that arose in the Brazilian literomusical discursive field. As this tone does not separate a character such vocal qualities contribute to the listener to prepare for the guarantor questioningly and aggressive ethos, similar to that already observed by Costa in verbal plan of the songs. Such vocal ethos participates in the composition of various themes and tones of the songs.

Such vocal ethos participates in the composition of various themes and tones of the songs.Este trabalho analisa o ethos no investimento vocal de quatro gravações da canção “A palo seco” (Belchior; 1974; 1976; Fagner, 1974; Ednardo, 1975), a fim de investigarmos se as constatações de Costa (2001; 2011) a respeito do ethos áspero do Pessoal do Ceará também se confirmam nessa dimensão. Utilizamos o aporte da Análise do Discurso, delineada por Maingueneau, e a aplicação que Costa faz dessa teoria ao discurso literomusical. Observamos um hipertimbre agudo/metálico nas vozes de Ednardo e de Fagner e uma hipernasalidade na voz de Belchior, que tornam evidente uma ausência de equilíbrio nos fatores de ressonância. No entanto, o esforço físico que tais qualidades vocais aparentam pode ser visto como uma transgressão, o que denota, para essa dimensão do investimento vocal, um tom polêmico, quando comparada a outros surgidos no campo discursivo literomusical brasileiro. Como esse tom não se separa de um caráter, tais qualidades vocais contribuem para que o ouvinte elabore para o fiador um ethos questionador e agressivo, semelhante àquele já constatado por Costa no plano verbal das canções.
