This work reflects the growing concern for Combating Trafficking in Drugs, in particular that has its origins in organized crime, corruption, trafficking in drugs, and currently in the financing of terrorism. Aims to reflect on the efficiency in implementing laws to combat drug trafficking in support of citizenship, through existing legislation, and the application of laws as a way of reducing crime. Seeks to identify the policing developed by the federal police in order to demonstrate the laws governing drug trafficking, and mechanisms of prevention. It also shows that prevention programs are few and resources are scarce, insufficient resources, facing the dilemma that society lives with the drug problem in Brazil in Brazilian penal law, in addition to the disparity between the punitive social evil produced directly and indirectly by trafficking in narcotics and related drugs, do not ponder the recent past, in legislative terms, the necessary increase in quantity of feathers. From the foregoing, it is clear the need to review such practices laws, so in honor of representative democracy and the true spirit and foundation of law will be possible one day, impose harsher penalties for traffickers. To achieve the goal of this monograph, the procedures used in this work are qualitative and documentary, from literature, particularly in specific laws and the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil, beyond the textbooks that discuss the subject. The exploratory study aimed to generate knowledge for use of Law 11 343 of August 23, 2006 establishing the National System of Public Policies on drugs, prescribing measures to prevent drug abuse, attention and social reintegration of drug users and addicts; standards for prosecution unauthorized and illegal drug trafficking, defines crimes and provides other measures. The study developed aimed to provide greater familiarity with the problem, hoping to make it more explicit or to build hypotheses. As a final result, we conclude that the Combating Drug Trafficking can no longer be considered just a "police" or "an obligation of the government," a bad practice that depends crucially on the mobilization of society as a repudiation of Drugs.
