Resumo: This study aims to identify the care provided by nurses of the Family Health Strategy facing the mental health needs and to assess whether they were based on the notions of completeness, host / link and listening to the subject. It is a descriptive exploratory study with a qualitative approach made with ten nurses from Cajazeiras — PB. Information was collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed by thematic analysis. It was found that the views of the mental health illness were based in the biological model, and there was no communicability between mental health and primary care network. This compromises the effectiveness of a practice based on the notion of completeness, host / link and listening to the subject. It is urgent the need for implementation of municipal public policies that promote coordination between mental health and primary care, outreach and continuing education of nursing professionals.

It is urgent the need for implementation of municipal public policies that promote coordination between mental health and primary care, outreach and continuing education of nursing professionals.Este estudo buscou identificar os cuidados oferecidos pelas enfermeiras da Estratégia de Saúde da Família frente às necessidades de saúde mental e avaliar se estes se encontravam fundamentados nas noções de integralidade, acolhimento/vínculo e escuta do sujeito. Estudo exploratório-descritivo, com abordagem qualitativa. Participaram 10 enfermeiras que atuavam nas Unidades Básicas de Saúde da Família de Cajazeiras — PB. As informações foram coletadas por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas e analisadas pelo método de análise temática. Constatou-se que as concepções do processo saúde doença mental estiveram fundamentadas no modelo biológico, e que não havia comunicabilidade entre saúde mental e rede básica. Isto compromete a efetivação de uma prática pautada na noção de integralidade, acolhimento/vínculo e escuta do sujeito. Torna-se premente a necessidade de implementação de políticas públicas municipais que promovam articulação entre saúde mental e atenção básica, a sensibilização e a formação continuada dos profissionais de enfermagem.Se buscó identificar los cuidados ofrecidos por las enfermeras de la Estrategia de Salud de la Familia ante las necesidades de salud mental y evaluar si éstos se basaban en las nociones de integridad, acogida/vínculo y dar oídos al individuo. De carácter exploratorio-descriptivo con enfoque cualitativo. Participaron 10 enfermeras que actuaban en Unidades Básicas de Salud Familiar en Cajazeiras — PB. Las informaciones fueron recogidas a través de entrevistas semiestructuradas y analizadas por el método de análisis temático. Se verificó que los conceptos del proceso salud enfermedad mental se basaron en el modelo biológico, y no había comunicación entre salud mental y la red básica de salud. Esto compromete la ejecución de una práctica pautada en nociones de integridad, acogida/vínculo y escuchar al individuo.
