Resumo: | The pandemy of Sars-Cov-2, that causes COVID-19, has impacted a huge number of economic sectors arround the worl, including the construction industry. Thus, many researchs were carried out aming to understand the pandemic cenário and to minimize the damage caused. Specifically in research on construction industry was observed a prolific literature. However, there is a gap related with the safety at sites of small construction. Due of this gap, this research aims to analyze how safety management is carried at small construction sites is taking place in the COVID-19 pandemic scenario. For that, three case studies were carried out with construction companies that perform small constructions. As results, the main measures that can serve as a basis for improving occupational safety management in small constructions were raised from literature review. Moreover, a contextualization of safety management was carried out before the pandemic to identify the impacts caused by COVID-19 and explore the new adopted measures. It is worthy to notice that the financial availability of a small construction was the main barrier to safety management. In addition, resistance from workers was identified to meet minimum protection issues, such as wearing a mask. It was not found the use of sectorial protocols in use by the construction companies. This can be related with the low diffusion or due of the unfeasibility of proposed measures to the contexto of small construction. Finally, there were no substantial changes in safety management before and during the pandemic. The same difficulties continued and the pandemic increased the risk to construction workers. |

Finally, there were no substantial changes in safety management before and during the pandemic. The same difficulties continued and the pandemic increased the risk to construction workers.
