Resumo: | Environmental stimuli are essential and timely for motor skills in childhood, with the intention of ensuring the best development and growth. The house is the main influencing environment for the enhancement of this development. The study described the prevalence and environmental risk factors for motor development in children aged 0 to 12 months, in a situation of psychosocial deficiency. An analytical, cross-sectional study where 19 children with psychosocial deficiency were evaluated, attended at the child care service of a health unit in Fortaleza, where socio-demographic data, pre and postnatal history, quality and quantity of opportunities were collected by Affordances in the home environment for motor development- infant scale (AHEMD-IS) and motor development by the Alberta Infant Motor Scale (AIMS) sample had a mean age of 4 ± 3.73 months, 52.7% of the parents had lower schooling 52.6% of the family heads did not have a source of income and 36.8% participated in the Bolsa Família program of the Federal Government, 63.2% of the children had exclusive breastfeeding up to six months of life, 36.8% of the mothers reported that the arrival of the child was undesirable, 94.7% had contact with the father figure, 78.9% of the children were classified as low risk to health. 52.6% of the children were classified as AHEMD-IS in the descriptive category less than adequate, 21.1% in the moderately adequate category, 15.8% in the appropriate category and 10.5% in the excellent category of environmental stimuli, 83.3% % had adequate motor development, 16.7% suspect development, and no children had developmental delay. It was observed that although the children belonged to families with prevalent psychosocial and environmental risk factors, these did not significantly influence the motor development of infants aged 0-12 months. |
