This work discusses the use of the Google Drive platform to manage photographs of family collections as a way to ensure quick access, easy localization and quality images, in addition to physical and content preservation. It is configured as a descriptive research, of an applied nature. It discusses the concepts of document, preservation, digitalization, electronic document management (GED), indexing and family photography. It seeks to establish the relationship between these concepts in a digital environment, to demonstrate how one can help the other and how the librarian fits into this scenario. It sets out requirements for choosing the scanner, preparing the photograph, identifying the metadata and scanning itself. It presents the characteristics of photographs on paper and, specifically, those of family collection. Contextualizes the reason for choosing Google Drive instead of Google Photos, in practice. Finally, it accentuates the Google Drive application to manage photographs of family collections, exemplifying the advantages and features present in the suggested platform.
