This work aims to analyze the relation between librarians and the comics, as well as their insertion in the library collection and the barriers that prevent it to occur effectively, whether technical or cultural. This is a bibliographic research, of a qualitative and exploratory nature of the addressed subject. The analysis from the available literature on comic books in libraries points out that there is still difficulty to insert this material inside the collection in an extensive way, since when it exists it is aimed at the child audience or it’s not cataloged, causing difficulties for both the public that try to find the stories they are looking for, as well as for the librarian's job of recovering stories contained in these works. It is concluded that there are many technical difficulties, but they can and should be circumvented. The value of comics, in terms of informational, cultural and political aspects, must weigh more than the technical difficulties or the professionals’ prejudices.
