Incontinência urinária e disfunção sexual no terceiro trimestre gestacional e seis meses após o parto

Introduction : pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum can lead to changes in the genitourinary system of women, these being some of the important risk factors for the onset of urinary symptoms and subsequent changes in sexual function. Objectives : To determine the prevalence of urinary incontinence (UI) and Sexual Dysfunctions (DS) in women during the third trimester of pregnancy and the sixth month postpartum, and its association with risk fac tors. Methodology : This is a longitudinal study conducted in health centers in the cities of Juazeiro - Bahia and Petrolina. - Pernambuco (Brazil) conducted with 54 women who filled out a form of sociodemographic data and questionnaires Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) and International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire - Short Form (ICIQ - SF). Data were processed and analyzed by the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Results : Among the 54 participants 37% had UI during the third trimes ter, and six months after birth 14.8%. Regarding the prevalence of DS during pregnancy it was 42.6% and 32.6% after delivery. There was no statistical difference in the association between age, body mass index (BMI), parity and education with the presence of UI and DS. Conclusions : The present study showed a higher prevalence of UI during pregnancy compared to six months after birth, and a moderate rate of women with DS in the third trimester with an improvement in sexual function in six months after delive ry. Also, it could not find statistical difference in the association of DS and IU with age, parity, BMI and education
