NBR 5410/2004: verificação da aplicação da norma em instalações elétricas de baixa tensão em uma vila de Fortaleza-CE

Electrical installations with 20 years of existence can bring more security, in addition to promoting power outages, electric shocks and even fires. As electricity can pose a risk to people's health and safety, this work was developed to verify the existence of non-conformities, according to NBR 5410, in four low voltage electrical installations with more than 20 years of existence, in addition to propose improvements to mitigate the identified problems. The data obtained show that the electrical installations verified do not follow the requirements of NBR 5410, putting the safety of the residents of these installations at risk. To alleviate the situation, it is necessary to create legal mechanisms for the inspection of the application of NBR 5410, by the concessionaires. In addition, the support of insurance companies is also essential to encourage the maintenance of electrical installations by requiring inspection reports and, finally, it is necessary to make the population aware of the safety of the installations, in order to positively transform the current reality of electrical installations.
