Responsabilidade no telejornalismo policial e mobilização de afetos: análise sociojurídica da tragédia humana como enquete social

This paper was written with the intention of analyzing the influence of police TV journalism in society. For this, it was used fundamental concepts of the French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu as a base, besides other specific bibliographies about the theme, case verification and editions of a television program from Ceará. As for the approach, it is a qualitative research. In this context, the first step was to understand the notions of field, social actors, symbolic power and punitive discourse, in order to allow the interpretation of the presentations and news reports referring to police actions and practices. Thus, it was identified in the analyzed field the presence of strategic resources focused on the dramatization of violence, that are capable of manipulating and generating negative impact affections on viewers, induced mainly through fear. As a result, this paper points that the sensationalist media coverage disseminated by the police TV journalism reinforces racial and class prejudices, disseminating the criminal stereotype aimed exclusively at historically more marginalized population groups. Finally, it was verified its incongruence with the responsibility promoted by the Brazilian Journalists' Code of Ethics, as well as it were verified the most recent judicial implications in face of the abuse of freedom of expression and the disrespect of honor and image as constitutional guarantees.
