Resumo: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) can be understood from a sustainability perspective, presenting itself as a form of devolution of the consolidation of environmental, economic and social actions focused on all organizational stakeholders. In dealing with this issue, companies develop gradually, evolving from basic stages, through which they acquire experiences, structures and knowledge, as well as the capacity to solve increasingly complex situations, becoming increasingly sustainable. The purpose of this research is to analyze the development of CSR in companies based in the dimensions and stages of Mirvis and Googins, in order to understand the dynamics of the relationship between companies and stakeholders, identify the concept of citizenship, the dimensions and the stage Of CSR, and verifying how their behavior occurs proactively or reactively, in relation to socio-environmental issues. On the subject of corporate social responsibility. The work is based on Carroll (1979), Wartick and Cochran (1985), Carroll (1999), Vassallo (2000), Quazi and O'Brien (2000), Garay (2001) Ashley (2002), Karkotli and Aragon 2004), Tachizawa (2005). Gonzalez-Benito and Gonzalez-Benito (2006). This work is classified as a multiple, descriptive and qualitative case study. The research was formulated with two companies, Newland of the commercial car sector, which is in the integrated stage of CSR, and the second, the Companhia de Água e esgoto do Estado do Ceará - CAGECE, a water and Sewage treatment, which is in the integrated stage which is the penultimate stage. Both companies were awarded the Delmiro Gouveia Prize. For the field data collection, a semi-structured questionnaire was developed with multiple choice questions applied to the manager of the companies surveyed, based on the model of Mirvis and Googins (2006) where the answer provided, classifies the company in one of the stages of CSR, Within one of the dimensions. Secondary data were also collected from company websites. The data analysis was developed in two stages: in one of them the result of the questionnaire was evaluated and then this result was confronted with the information of the companies website about their actions of Social Responsibility. The results show that CSR practices are influenced by the sector in which the company operates and the context in which it is inserted, which can make the stakeholders more active in influencing organizational decisions, causing companies to behave proactively or reactively.
