Studies about Gilka Machado's work are recent. For a long time the author was hidden or forgotten in the midst of so much research that always left the female writers in the background. The expansion of these studies only came with the concern to write a Women's History, fact occurred from the second half of the twentieth century. In addition, the poet from Rio de Janeiro was marked by his writing erotic nature. It was the first Brazilian writer to subvert the customs of the literary production of the time. In this respect, we present an approach of the work Mulher nua (1922), constructed in the light of unsubmissive poetry theory developed by Roberto Pontes (1999). We rescued some historical data to prove the fact that the author be considered unruly. We return to this end, the ideas of Michelle Perrot (2008) and Lucia Castello Branco (2004). We have analyzed some poems from Mulher nua that led to reflection on the poet's role in society in general, since ancient times.
