Avaliação da assistência pré-natal ofertada a adolescentes em casa de parto natural

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the quality of prenatal (PN) care offered to adolescents in the Natural Birth House (ANC). This is an evaluative documentary study carried out from February to June 2019 at the Lígia Costa Barros Natural Childbirth Center, located in the Regional Executive Secretariat (SER) III of the Municipal Health System of Fortaleza, Ceará. 275 medical records of adolescents up to 19 years of age who underwent prenatal care were enrolled in the CPN. To perform the data collection, a semi-structured instrument was used that included sociodemographic, clinical-obstetric, complementary tests, supplementation and immunizations. The data were stored and processed in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The evaluation of the service was done through levels. Level I that refers to the beginning PN and the number of consultations was adequate in 16.7% (n = 46) cases; in relation to Level II that joins level I and clinical-obstetric procedures, adequacy was achieved in 13.8% (n = 38) of the cases. Level III for laboratory tests, in addition to levels I and II, was adequate in 5.8% (n = 16) of the cases. Significant statistical differences were found in schooling (p = 0.001) in relation to clinical-obstetric procedures. From the associations between the sociodemographic data, no significant differences were identified in relation to age, marital status and work activity. Regarding the obstetric variables, no previous labor (p = 0.004) and vaginal delivery (p = 0.006) were statistically significant factors for inadequacy to PN initiation. Vaginal delivery (p = 0.032) and cesarean delivery (p = 0.025) were also factors for a lower number of visits. Thus, the result of assistance to adolescents was classified as predominantly intermediate, and the service should consider strategies that seek greater engagement and adherence of pregnant women to PN. In addition, greater attention should be paid to managers who can provide the site with a better support network in the active search of these adolescent pregnant women.
