Resumo: | Character design plays a vital role in the creation of works of fiction, being fundamental to conveying the essence and atmosphere of narratives. Within the context of science fiction, two subgenres have emerged over the years to represent the ideas of their generations: cyberpunk, featuring a dystopian future where advanced technology coexists with social and urban problems; and solarpunk, presenting a utopian future with a harmonious relationship between sustainable technology and nature. This study aims to analyze the aesthetics of cyberpunk and solar punk and apply them to character detoer to create characters that consistently and substantively represent the visuals and philosophies of these genres. For the development of a such a project, it was necessary to theoretically base the concepts of character design, s,peculative design anonsual styles, on the works "Creative Character Design" (2011) by Bryan Tillman, "Speculative Everything" (2013) by Dunne and Raby, and "A Primer of Visual Literacy" (2007) by Donis A. Dondis, respectively. The design methodology is based on the character design process proposed by Silva Filho et al. (2016), adapted to meet the objectives of this research. The six-step method includes problem identification and analysis, conceptual research, definition of the character's psychological aspects, visual research, sketching, and character rendering. By developing a cast of two charfulfillhat fulfill the established objectives, it is expected that this work will expand the field of character design studies, highlighting its use as a tool capable of provoking critical reflections about the future. |

Brasil, Aléxia CarvalhoRodrigues, Yngrid Santos2023-10-04T14:45:34Z2023-10-04T14:45:34Z2023info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesisapplication/pdfRODRIGUES, Yngrid Santos.
