Resumo: Stamping is one of the areas of surface design that is most present in fashion today, and is also our object of study. The use of image in the process of creating prints is quite common due to the need for reference material at the time of creation, but today, with the advancement of digital technology and its support for the design area, the use of image has become much more wide, due to the new possibilities of dealing with this image and applying it to the textile surface. Through the study on the field of stamping, they think about the use of the photographic image in the creation of prints, in addition to the function of inspiration and collection of images, analyzing their role in the market to understand how it can become a base or not creation for the stamping area.

O uso da imagem no processo de criação de estampas é bastante comum devido a necessidade de material de referência no momento de criação, mas hoje, com o avanço da tecnologia digital e seu suporte à área do design, o uso da imagem se tornou muito mais amplo, devido às novas possibilidades de se lidar com esta imagem e de aplicá-la na superfície têxtil.
