Resumo: Infantile diarrhea has multifactorial characteristics related to socioeconomic, sanitaryand behavioral conditions of the families. Therefore, it is necessary for the nurse to develop health education strategies based on maternal autoefficiency in order to help mothers feel more capable of adopting healthier behaviors, incorporating appropriate practices In the care of your children. In this way, the study was aimed at: to characterize the demographic and sanitary profile of the mothers of children under five years of age; Check the association between maternal autoefficiency levels to preventdiarrhea in children with sociodemographic and sanitary variables and to compare maternal autoefficiency levels of mothers of children under five years before and after strategy Educational with primer and motivational interview. It was an almost experimental study, of the type before and after, with a single group composed of 61 mothers and/or caregivers of children under five years of age, accompanied in a unit of primary health Care (UAPS) of Fortaleza-CE. The data collection occurred in three steps inthe UAPS itself. The first stage came from an interview with the mothers using EAPDI, which aims to measure the mothers ' autoefficiency in their ability to prevent child diarrhea, and a form that addressed sociodemographic and sanitary aspects of the mothers of the study. The second stage was characterized by the realization of the educational intervention through the application of the educational booklet that addresses the domains of the EAPDI scale (family hygiene and food/general practices) and briefmotivational interview. The third stage occurred shortly after the educational intervention and consisted of research into maternal autoefficiency through the application of EAPDI. The data were organized and analyzed through the statistical Package program for the Social Sciences-SPSS (version 20.0). The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC). According to the results, it was verified the predominance of mothers with age range of 20-29 years (N = 33; 54,1%), with schooling up to the 2nd degree complete (n = 36; 59,0%), who lived with partner (n = 46; 75,4%), who exercised only household activities (n = 40; 65,6%), with income of up to a minimum wage (n = 27; 45,0%) that had from one to two living children (n = 47; 79,7%), which had a grouting house (n = 57; 93,4%), with ceramic-type flooring (n = 37; 60,7%), did not present the presence of flies at home (n = 42; 68,9%) had soap near Taps (n = 52; 88,1%) and possessed sewage network (n = 36; 59,0%). An increase in the scores of EAPDI after the educational strategy was observed, with statistically significant association with all the sociodemographic and sanitary variables analyzed (p < 0.05). It is concluded that the educational intervention with educational booklet allied to the brief motivational interview was able to elevate maternal autoefficiency in preventing child diarrhea.

It is concluded that the educational intervention with educational booklet allied to the brief motivational interview was able to elevate maternal autoefficiency in preventing child diarrhea. Barbosa, Lorena PinheiroSabino, Leidiane Minervina Moraes deFreitas, Débora Joyce Nascimento2018-12-05T13:54:15Z2018-12-05T13:54:15Z2018info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesisapplication/pdfFREITAS, D.
