The current work is a case study on the use of credit cards by 22 families of students in the 9th grade of elementary school. The study was carried out in a private school, located in the municipality of Russas - CE, the institution of teaching assists students from kindergarten to elementary school. The research students are 22 students enrolled in elementary school. The researcher has contact with the students, being a math teacher in the class, which made the study accessible. The methodology used was to calculate interest and percentages present on the cards, followed by a questionnaire carried out by the students with their families, the same with 10 questions, in order to analyze whether the families successfully managed their card and to identify the possible causes that lead to the family indebtedness. Data collection showed that families did not have a satisfactory understanding of how to manage their cards because they did not know how it works in more detail. Where basics of interest and percentage are essential to manage the card satisfactorily.
