Resumo: This present paper aims to analyze the scientific production about Altmetrics indexed to Science Web Database, under the altmetric tools wich is employed or mentioned in scientific papers. This is an exploratory and descriptive research, based on bibliometric contributions. The results revealed that Altmetrics.com is the most employed and / or mentioned altmetric tool in the studies whilst the most employed and / or mentioned information sources for obtaining altmetric indicators were Mendeley, Twitter, ResearchGate and Facebook. However, metric studies also emerge from other information sources related to social media, increasing the tracking possibilities on the web regarding the research results repercussion. The scientific production on Altmetry has focused both on theoretical studies that are important for the strengthing of the area as well as on applied studies that support the direction of this approach. It is concluded that the literature has approached tangentially the altmetric tools, which denotesthe need for investment in this subject.

Trata-se de uma pesquisa exploratória e descritiva, pautada nos aportes bibliométricos. Os resultados revelaram que a ferramenta altmétrica mais utilizada e/ou citada nos estudos é a Altmetrics.com, ao passo que as fontes de informação mais utilizadas e/ou citadas para obtenção de medições altmétricas foram o Mendeley, o Twitter, o ResearchGate e o Facebook. No entanto, estudos métricos surgem também de outras fontes de informação relacionadas às mídias sociais, reforçando as possibilidades de rastreamento na web no que concerne à repercussão de resultados de pesquisa. A produção científica sobre Altmetria tem focado tanto em estudos teóricos importantes para o adensamento da área como também em estudos aplicados que respaldam o direcionamento dessa abordagem.
