This completion of course work presents as its central theme the study of document organization as a source of information. Its general objective is to show and prove the importance of this management in people's daily lives. The theoretical framework covered the following topics: Document management, personal archives, the usefulness of organizing and keeping personal documents and the temporality table. As for the methodology was used the bibliographic type with a qualitative approach. Data collection was performed through semi-structured questions with six people of different profiles such as age, gender and level of education, the only common feature among them was the location that is located at 731 Street in Conjunto Ceará neighborhood. Data analysis was performed through content in which the results really pointed out what was developed throughout the work corresponding exactly to the authors' discourse, reinforcing the whole theme explored in the research, where the answers were almost unanimous among the interviewees. With this data it was realized that really people find the organization and keeping of documents important mainly for supporting purposes.
