A-volve: compreendendo uma instalação multimídia interativa sob a ótica da estética relacional

Resumo: This work stems from the interest in analyzing an artistic work of Interactive Multimedia Installation (hereafter called IMI). However, the chosen approach was “relational aesthetics” as proposed by Nicolas Bourriaud, understanding this form of artistic expression as a mobilizer of subjectivities and rationalities, of other constructions in society’s relations. Thus,the installation work “A-Volve” by multimedia artists Christa Sommerer and Laurent Mignonneau was selected, due to its historical importance and strong interactive aspects as an object of interpretation from the “relational aesthetics” of Bourriaud, with the intent to understand the emergence of other socialities between organic beings related through artificial systems. Just as well, the bases and procedures of social cartography were used, a method derived from the thinking of the philosophers Deleuze & Guattari. Social cartography is a method for studying the production processes of subjectivities/meanings, so it is also about interactions and socialities in the construction of a relationship between someone and a subject or an object. Given these premises, this research was organized as follows: introduction, which seeks to contextualize the work and explain the importance of studying this art form (IMI) as a producer of other emerging socialities. The theoretical foundation of the work seeks to situate the importance of creating possibilities of perception and understanding of the relationships that are built from digital spaces, especially artistic, using concepts and coming up with categories that enable the use of "relational aesthetics" as a basis of interpretation and classification of media arts and IMI works. With this intent, it seeks to specify the understanding of media arts as computational art, and then understand interactive art and its "levels of openness", the concepts of "device and employee" developed by Flusser and some fundamentals of relational aesthetics. After that, the works of Christa Sommerer & Laurent Mignonneau, creators of the analyzed work "A-Volve", are presented; finally, the relations of media arts with relational art are highlighted in order to explain the results of this analysis, which culminates in the understanding of this form of artistic expression as a mobilizer of subjectivities and rationalities, of other constructions of thought and relationships in society.

Contudo, a abordagem escolhida se deu pela “estética relacional” proposta por Nicolas Bourriaud, compreendendo esta forma de expressão artística como mobilizadora das subjetividades e racionalidades, de outras construções de relações na sociedade. Assim, se elege a obra instalativa “A-Volve” dos artistas multimídia Christa Sommerer e Laurent Mignonneau, em razão de sua importância histórica e do forte caráter interativo como objeto de interpretação a partir da “estética relacional” de Bourriaud com a finalidade de entender a emergência de outras socialidades entre seres orgânicos que se relacionam através de sistemas artificiais. Foram também utilizadas as bases e procedimentos da cartografia social, método oriundo do pensamento dos filósofos Deleuze e Guattari. A cartografia social é um método de estudo de processos de produção de subjetividades/sentidos e, portanto, também trata de interações e “socialidades” na construção de uma relação de alguém com um sujeito ou um objeto. Com essas premissas, esta pesquisa se organizou da seguinte forma: introdução, onde se procura contextualizar o trabalho e explicar sobre a importância de se estudar esta forma de arte (IMI) como produtora de socialidades emergentes. A fundamentação teórica do trabalho procura situar a importância de criarmos possibilidades de percepção e compreensão das relações que são construídas a partir de espaços digitais, especialmente artísticos, utilizando conceitos e fazendo emergir categorias que possibilitem a utilização da "estética relacional" como base de interpretação e classificação de trabalhos de artemídia e IMI. Com esse objetivo, surge a necessidade de especificar a compreensão de artemídia como arte computacional e então compreender a arte interativa e seus níveis de abertura, os conceitos de aparelho e funcionário desenvolvidos por Flusser e alguns fundamentos da estética relacional. Após isso, são apresentados os trabalhos de Christa Sommerer & Laurent Mignonneau, criadores da obra analisada "A-Volve".
