Acessando a qualidade de vida dos cuidadores de crianças portadoras da síndrome congênita do Zika Vírus

Aims: To evaluate the quality of life of caregivers of children with confirmed Congenital Zika virus Syndrome (CZS) diagnosis. Methods and Results: Transversal and qualitative study, carried out during three days of multidisciplinary care to patients with SZC. Sixty-six participants underwent QOL assessment based on the World Health Organization Quality of Life questionnaire (WHOQOL-BREF) in Portuguese. A scale adapted to classify the results was used. Self-assessment of QOL (70.12%) was considered satisfactory. The psychological (67.50%), social (66.54%), physical (62.28%), and environment (51.86%) domains were considered in a region of uncertainty. Participants assessed QOL (m=3.92) as good and considered themselves satisfied with their health (m=3.69). The sufficiency of financial resources (m=2.52) was considered average and leisure opportunities (m=2.31), very few. There was a significant relationship between educational level and financial resources (p=0.038), leisure opportunities (p=0.014), social support (p=0.037) and the environment domain (p=0.049). Conclusion: The caregivers evaluated in this research considered themselves happy and satisfied with themselves. The level of education had a negative influence on the assessment of the environment. However, those who have received the most social support, are mostly people of lower educational level, a relationship that needs to be better studied.
