O ácido hialurônico como recurso para melhora da estética gengival: uma revisão de literatura.

The health and esthetics of the gingival tissue are essential for the success of a prosthetic rehabilitation. Gingival embrasures opened due to the absence of interdental papillae, are often the result of loss of periodontal attachment in the interproximal area, resulting in esthetic damage, in addition to the possibility of phonetic and functional problems. The reconstruction of a papilla by means of gingival grafting can be challenging due to the unpredictability of the final result and, therefore, some authors suggest the injection of hyaluronic acid as a quick treatment, with an immediate result and also at a lower cost. The aim of the present work was to review the literature on the subject hyaluronic acid injections for esthetic correction of the interdental papilla in human beings. A search was carried out in the “PubMed” database using the descriptors: “Interdental Papilla” and “Hyaluronic Acid” and their Entry Terms, with 4642 articles published in the last 5 years. After reading the titles and abstracts, those which did not fit the topic or weren't clinical trials were excluded. clinical actions thus 6 articles were selected. The studies revealed quick results, durability of 6 months, satisfactory height increases, esthetic improvement and patient satisfaction, mild pain and quick recovery. It was possible to conclude that injections of hyaluronic acid for the reconstruction of interdental papillae are viable minimally invasive solutions due to their quick results and aesthetic and functional gains, in addition to being reversible and of low risk.
