Processo de apreensão de conceitos de massa: um estudo de caso do ensino fundamental ao médio

This work is based on an exploratory research, with qualitative and quantitative analysis, in which data is gathered from questionnaires applied to classes of elementary and high school. These questionnaires are composed by questions related to the concepts of mass, taking into account the answers that came closest to the conceptual ideas, in order to follow the evolution of the understanding of these concepts by the students. The questionnaires were directed to students of the State and Municipal Public Schools of Fortaleza/CE. With the answers of the questionnaires in hands, it was possible to carry out the research and to propose possible solutions that would help on the assimilation of the syllabus by the students. This was made under the light of theories on concept formation, by stressing the difference between building and apprehending knowledge, following the ideas of Werneck. Also we took into account the process of construction and apprehension of knowledge according to Piaget and Vygotsky, and on the spiral approach of teaching and how it influences the process of learning. The results obtained were compared to the concepts of the aforementioned psychologists and related to the accepted physical concepts of mass, with the main goal of showing how we can perceive the performance of students in the learning process.
