Resumo: The present work will take the reader to know about the polynomial function in the 1st and 2nd degree, such as observing the results of a field research carried out at EEIF JOSÉ DOMINGOS DA SILVA located in the interior of the city of Quiterianópolis / Ce, in a survey with the students of the 9th grade class and an interview with the teacher who teaches mathematics in the class about the importance and challenges of the same. The main objective of this work is to know the application of the polynomial function of the 1st and 2nd grades in the 9th grade classes, including the reality of teaching mathematics today.
