Novas fronteiras telejornalísticas: o uso das imagens de câmeras de vigilância na produção noticiosa

Resumo: Scenes captured by surveillance cameras are increasingly present in the news production process on Brazilian TV newscasts. Based on this assumption, we seek to point out, from a bibliographic review, the main aspects that constitute the relationship between contemporary television news production and the use of video surveillance equipment images in the news narrative, based on discussions in doctoral research that is under development in the Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação da Universidade Federal do Ceará. Thus, we present in the text below conceptual and theoretical aspects, both in the field of Journalism, and regarding the theme of surveillance, which can help us to understand the reasons for the appropriation of these images by the media. As a way of advancing the discussion, we propose that the use of content from surveillance cameras gains strength in telejournalism, in theory, by linking to a journalistic claim that is guided by transposing reality to the TV screen “as it is”, reinforcing myths such as that journalistic impartiality.

Partindo desse pressuposto, buscamos apontar, a partir de revisão bibliográfica, os principais aspectos que constituem a relação entre a produção telejornalística contemporânea e o uso de imagens de equipamentos de videovigilância na narrativa noticiosa, tendo como base as discussões existentes em nossa pesquisa de doutorado que se encontra em desenvolvimento no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação da Universidade Federal do Ceará. Dessa maneira, apresentamos no texto a seguir aspectos conceituais e teóricos, tanto do campo do Jornalismo, quanto referentes à temática da vigilância, que podem nos auxiliar a compreender os motivos para que haja a apropriação de imagens de videovigilância por parte dos veículos telejornalísticos.
