Intermodal transport is a mode in which they use two or more modes of transport, it increases the participation of the types of modal and reduces transportation costs. The intermodality is used strategically in organizations, the focus of this work is to show that through the intermodal logistics management, companies can improve the transportation services they provide, and become more competitive. The methodology was a field study in the manufacturer of flour, along with bibliographical research on logistics business, which were raised concepts related to logistics, transportation management, level of customer service, intermodality. The data for analysis were obtained through desk research and interviews with employees, where we obtained information relevant to the investigation. The conclusion of the study shows the arduous task manager logistics should try to balance the good service at affordable prices and existing barriers, related to transportation infrastructure, preventing the rise of intermodality.
