Resumo: This article aims to interpret morphological features in the landscape in SRTM images to characterize neotectonic influences on the lower course of the Capibaribe river, in the municipalities of Paudalho in the North Forest Zone and São Lourenço da Mata in the Metropolitan Region of Recife, located in the eastern portion of the State of Pernambuco. The images were interpreted from the hypsometric values, morphometric data Index Fund Reason / Valley Height (RFAV) and Indicators morphotectonic. Now, it was identified between Paudalho and São Lourenço da Mata channel flexure in the left margin, in the tributaries of the river Goitá and Tapacurá, captured by a direction of 2.63 km failure. For the surveyed area found relatively low RFAV values and morphotectonic indicators closely associated with the framework of normal faults and transcurrent present in the area. The portion studied is between the lineament Pernambuco, south, and north the lineament Patos zone that acts as Cenozoic tectonic controllers in the drainage possibly caused by tectonic reactivations in the regional context.

As imagens foram interpretadas a partir dos valores hipsométricos, dados morfométricos de índice Razão Fundo/Altura de Vale (RFAV) e Indicadores Morfotectônicos. Nessa conjuntura, foi identificado entre Paudalho e São Lourenço da Mata a flexura de canal na margem esquerda, resultando nos afluentes do rio Goitá e Tapacurá, capturado por uma direção de falha de 2,63 quilômetros. Para a área pesquisada constatou-se valores RFAV relativamente baixos e indicadores morfotectônicos estritamente associado ao arcabouço de falhas normais e transcorrentes presente na área. A porção estudada encontra-se entre o Lineamento Pernambuco, ao sul, e ao norte o Lineamento Patos, zona que atua como controladores tectônicos cenozóico, na configuração da rede de drenagem e nas feições do relevo.
