THE GEOHERITAGE EDUCATIONAL POTENTIALITIES: THE STUDY OF SÍTIO DO BOSCO GEOSITE

Resumo: The field of geodiversity is stablished as a paradigm in Geosciences. Its studies of environmental studies aim to translate the geological knowledge to a daily language. In this context, the present study discuss the didactic potential role for the geological heritage in fulfilling this purpose by the means of the study of the Sitio do Bosco Geosite, Tianguá, Brazil. The methodology starts from the theoretical discussion about the main concepts that compose the Geodiversity and Geoconservation theme. The analysis emphasize that the Sítio do Bosco Geosite present high educational potential and may be used in educational practices of different levels. We conclude that understanding the geological heritage by its educational potential consists in one of the main and more viable geoconservation strategies.

Sus estudios de caracter ambiental tienen como objetivo traducir el conocimiento geológico-geomorfológico a un lenguaje cotidiano. El presente estudio discute el papel del potencial didáctico del patrimonio geológico para la realización de este propósito a través del estudio del Geositio Sitio do Bosco, Tianguá, Ceará, Brasil. La metodología parte de la discusión teórica sobre los conceptos principales que integran el tema de Geodiversidad y puesta en marcha de una estrategia de geoconservación. Los análisis señalan que el Geositio Sítio do Bosco tiene un alto potencial educativo, pudiendo ser utilizado en prácticas educativas de diferentes niveles de enseñanza. Se concluye que comprender el patrimonio geológico por su potencial educativo constituye una de las principales y más viables estrategias de geoconservación.O campo da Geodiversidade tem se estabelecido como um paradigma das Geociências. Seus estudos de caráter ambiental visam traduzir o conhecimento geológico para uma linguagem do cotidiano. O presente estudo discute o papel do potencial didático do patrimônio geológico na concretização desse propósito por meio do estudo do Geossítio Sitio do Bosco, Tianguá, Ceará, Brasil. A metodologia parte da discussão teórica sobre os principais conceitos que integram a temática da Geodiversidade e da realização de etapas de estratégia de geoconservação. As análises salientam que o Geossítio Sítio do Bosco apresenta um elevado potencial educativo, podendo ser utilizado em práticas educativas de diferentes níveis de ensino.
