Resumo: The present article discusses questions of style and expressiveness from poetic texts by deaf students, through poetry signaled, from the bilingual teaching perspective, with a view to interpreting the expressive resources present in the poetry of Cecília Meireles. The theoretical basis of the work was based on the studies of Martins (2000), Duarte (1996, 2006), Monteiro (1991), Guiraud (1970), Sacks (1989), Gesser (2009), Vargas and Sousa (2017), Lima, Sousa and Garcia (2017) and Quadros and Karnopp (2004). The proposal was applied to three (3) deaf students of the Center for Youth and Adult Education (CEJA), of the Second Elementary School Module II, in November 2017. We use videos with the poetry “Tarde de chuva” signaled and with subtitles in Portuguese Language. After the video was shown, it was proposed that the deaf produce images with the interpretation of the poetic text. After the application and analysis of the pictorial images, produced by the students, we observed that the students perceived the resources of expressiveness present in the text, especially the metaphor and prosopopeia.
