Resumo: This paper aims at comprehending the discursive functioning of comments on Facebook, that is, it aims at apprehending the imaginary functioning of commenting on this social medium. Therefore, a video posted on “Quebrando o Tabu” was selected, specifically the comments to this post. Grounded on the Discourse Analysis developed by Michel Pêcheux, as well as recurring to some concepts from Lacan’s Psychoanalysis theoretical framework, it was possible to comprehend that comments, under the imaginary of what it means “to interact on-line”, produce effects of identification in which the subject attaches itself, through the other, to a unity effect that is actually paradoxical.

Para tanto, recortamos a postagem de um vídeo da página “Quebrando o Tabu”, especificamente os comentários a essa publicação.
