Intonational differences between assertive and interrogative sentences with falling boundary tones: Geoprosodic varieties of Asturias

Resumo: This paper shows the relevance of the tonal range and the duration as complementary intonation indices of the pitch accents and boundary edges in the discrimination of declarative and interrogative sentences in languages with falling boundary tones in both modalities. It is based on regularities observed in the prosodic descriptions, verified in perceptual experiments and assessed by dialectometric analysis in the geoprosodic varieties of Asturias. The different models and, especially, the one of Asturian centromeridional are shown in which the concatenation of pitch accents and boundary edges is identical in the assertive and interrogative utterances. The samples from the Asturian corpus of the Atlas Multimedia Prosódico del Espacio Románico (AMPER-Astur) are taken as a reference.

Por consiguiente, se considera que estos parámetros deben incluirse en el componente fonológico de la entonación. Se parte de regularidades observadas en las descripciones prosódicas, comprobadas en experimentos perceptivos y valoradas mediante análisis dialectométrico en las variedades geoprosódicas de Asturias. Se muestran los distintos modelos y, particularmente, el de asturiano centromeridional en el que la concatenación de acentos tonales y límites de frontera es idéntica en las modalidades asertiva e interrogativa.
